Our Story and Mission
OUR STORY - During his 38 years of international ministry, East West InterKnit founder Dr. V. Samuel Jones worked alongside hundreds of national Christian workers and observed not only their dedication to serving their communities, but also the challenges and limitations resulting from lack of resources or training.
In 1992 he started East West InterKnit to build partnerships in support of these leaders, who typically work in areas that have had very little exposure to the gospel of Jesus Christ and where humanitarian aid and resources are extremely limited. The core of EWI's mission is to serve those who serve, by assisting those who are engaged in communicating the gospel and helping people in obvious need according to the example of Jesus Christ.
Sam was uniquely gifted in identifying effective, committed, godly workers who would benefit from the kind of partnership EWI envisioned. Since its founding, the ministry grew from serving a handful of partners to involving communities all over the world. In 1998 after his death , Sam's wife and life-partner in ministry, Annette, assumed leadership of the organization.
OUR MISSION - To provide tools and resources that increase the capacity of overseas partners for ministry. We use our resources in partnership with those of developing world ministries for the furtherance of the gospel and for meeting human needs. Our tag line is 'Serving Those Who Serve.'
